We cannot change with out acceptance, nor accept without understanding. Understanding without change can be torture; change without understanding will not last. One must understand and accept oneself to change and thrive, as we all deserve to do.

As a life coach, my aim is to help you determine your long-term and ‘big picture’ personal development goals, guide you to identify any obstacles that may be impeding your success, and build tenacity and wisdom in order to make these meaningful changes in your life. Together we will build a plan for your achievements— including a set number of meeting times, keep record of your progress, and tap into tailored support for your unique goals.

Psychologically speaking, my personal theory for maximized mental and emotional health is based on a progressive model of multiple theories in order to ensure an effective, persistent practice of self-love and growth for the unique lives each of us lead. I listen intently on where you’re noticing difficulties in your world, and help you discover the deeper reasons behind your struggles and frustrations in a safe and validating environment. Then, after embracing our agency for change and accepting our place in the universe amid death and tragedy, we work together to influence positive growth in your life.

Together we can begin to uncover powerful insights on your past that affect your functioning and mental well-being today. Through increased comfort, shunned and unaddressed thoughts and conceptions are able to be expressed, examined, and understood. This acceptance of the unconscious strengthens wisdom so more functional, reality-based behaviors can emerge. Leaning on Internal Family Systems Therapy allows us a language for these shunned and otherwise less-obvious parts of ourselves, while increasing communication to and acceptance of all of these components of self. Influenced by a existential philosophical framework, we will approach hard topics, such as isolation, meaninglessness, death. While these topics are extremely heavy and intricate without explicit answers, addressing them leads to implicit answers as to what gives our lives meaning and why we are dedicated to thriving.

A common frustration for earlier methods of talk therapy is the circling of the answers to “Why?” a behavior occurs, without any clarity for forward progress, or the answer to “Now what?” This is addressed by implementing Behavioral Therapies for concrete transformation. Once an understanding and acceptance of oneself has been reached, Dialectical Behavioral Therapies provide a clearer roadmap for tangible growth. This therapy provides skill acquisition for wisdom, mindfullness, and effectiveness practices that can assist you on reaching your goals.

Tele-Coaching

Tele-coaching means we’ll be meeting via a secure video conferencing app. This type of service is convenient for people who prefer not to commute to a local office, provides greater flexibility in scheduling, and allows you to meet with me even if you are out of town. There are some differences from the in-person methods we use to connect, but I have found that having the session include technology in this way opens access to tools that we typically wouldn’t use in office sessions.
